Each has his past shut in him like the leaves of a book known to him by his heart, and his friends can only read the title.
LET ME FOLLOW YOU DOWN
This guy is my musical God.
He doesn`t really go by any of the predefined rules of do`s and dont`s.
Maybe he`s the marmite man of rock; for those not smitten, he sounds like shite shot from a hippo`s arse, but for me, he`s God, Odin, Krishna, and all those other heavy weights of the Cosmos. I first heard him when I was 10 – maybe younger; even then, I knew he was something different to all the other 2 minute, tin pan alley wonders like Presley ( who had sold out), Del Shannon, Freddie and the Dreamers and whatever.
It maybe retro fitting something that didn`t actually exist, but it seems to me that kids way back in the day, enjoyed and appreciated a far wider range & variety of music than they do today.
I mean, Ed Sheeran compared to Bob Dylan?
Come on, let`s get real.
The 60`s revolution in rock was the direct result of Dylan going electric in 65` and releasing the 3 seminal albums that booted the genre into the future. Forget anything the Beatles came up with, Dylan was not only the driver of the train, but the guy that wrote the timetable, laid the track, and built the train and the stations, and made sure the weather was perfect every day.
