Each has his past shut in him like the leaves of a book known to him by his heart, and his friends can only read the title.
DANTE`S PATHWAY TO HEAVEN
The Love of God
by Dante Alighieri.
The love of God, unutterable and perfect,
flows into a pure soul the way that light
rushes into a transparent object.
The more love that it finds, the more it gives
itself; so that, as we grow clear and open,
the more complete the joy of heaven is.
And the more souls who resonate together,
the greater the intensity of their love,
and, mirror like, each soul reflects the other.
This is as pure an interpretation of the rapture of religious love as you will ever find in western literature. God is an object of love and desire which grows more beneficent and generous of heart and soul towards it`s adorer, the more He is loved. Love is a runaway train of mutual, beatific French kisses that increases exponentially with each ardent embrace. The language is as beautiful and glorious as the concept of religious free love between man and God. Only Dante at his most sublime could have cracked open such a perfect egg of tender intent and divine wonder. His words bathe us in the love of God, and His Light shines upon us in turn, allowing our love to magnify the Lord. As it was in the beginning, and as it ever shall be……..
Language and good literature are like fine wine upon the lips. I cannot imagine a life without the written word. It`s the music which keeps the orchestra in my head playing on an endless loop of pleasure. Give me a book to read, and I`m as happy as a French man who has invented a pair of self removing trousers.
