Hope is the Thing with Feathers, by Emily Dickinson:

“Hope” is the thing with feathers

That perches in the soul

And sings the tune without the words

And never stops at all.”

By using imagery and metaphor, Emily defines the idea of hope as the free spirit of a bird. Hope is a feeling, which perches in our soul and sings it`s eternal song . No matter how wild and fierce the wind which buffets us throughout life, the little friend within us continues to trill it`s sweet message and sustain us with the comfort and warmth of eternal hope. For what are we without hope and dreams?
